The Travelling Flag Day

On August 29, 2010 there will be an event being held for The Travelling Flag for the people of Hamilton and everyone who would like to attend it. This will give people a chance to sign the flags to honour those who have fallen in Afghanistan, show their support to the families and to support our current serving men and women in the Canadian Forces and their families as well.

This will be a day to remember our fallen, our currently serving and the families of these brave men and women. The proceeds from the day, whether from the BBQ, the booths set up with merchandise, or just donations from the public will be sent to the Allan's Angels Camp to help make this summer camp an annual event for the children of fallen soldiers to come together.

We will have 151 red and white balloons filled with helium, one to represent each of our fallen soldiers to date. We will be writing the name of a soldier on each balloon and at a chosen time we will be letting the balloons go into the sky to honour those who have fallen and let them know we will NEVER forget what they sacrificed.

Things to look forward to at the event:

The Travelling Flags - to be signed by the public

The Scroll - For those who want to send messages to our troops which will later be sent to Afghanistan after the event.
